On Monday 12, 2015, a group of enthusiastic learners would assemble at the Computing for Development (C4D) Lab for a rigorous one-week training on SAS Data Analytics which was to be conducted by a team of experts on various aspects of the course.

Organized by Dr. Tony Omwansa, the C4DLab Coordinator, the course would equip learners with the basics for data analytics with SAS, which will pave the way for sophisticated programming with SAS.

On the first day of the classes, Mr. Arnoux van Rensburg-an SAS trainer based in South Africa- took the trainees through the SAS programming essentials, which were appreciated as important for learning other complicated SAS courses.

One such course included “data management”, which was reinforced by practicals on how to create “data sets” manipulated with SAS programs.

It is expected that by the time the trainees go through a twelve-chapter booklet provided by SAS Institute, they would have gained a lot for application to the real world.

The training continues tomorrow till Friday.
