C4DLab will in two weeks run a one-day back-to-back pitching session aimed to select startups continuing in her incubation and acceleration (AfTIA) programme.

To be held at the University of Nairobi‘s Chiromo Campus, the ultimate pitching event is designed for up to 10 startups which also are looking to graduate from the seven week long Design for Internet of Things (D4IoT) programme which started on February 22 this year and ending on April 5.

According to one of the facilitators, the D4IoT course running with generous support from Intel and UNICEF, has been taking the said startups consisting teams of about three “committed entrepreneurs with solid ideas or possible business concepts through a training that would sharpen their IoT focused ideas into viable businesses”.

In the meantime, each of the startup teams is required to spend about one and a half hours with Dr Tonny Omwansa on Thursday March 31 and Friday April 1, to organize their entire experience of Design Thinking, Value Proposition, Business Model and IoT into a sharp 5 minute pitch that focuses on the minimum viable product,” says Mathew Egessa.

During the meeting scheduled to start from 8: 30 AM and ending at 5: 00 PM for the two days, Dr Omwansa, Director, C4DLab, will on the first day be expecting results from the earlier on exercise of validating their Business Model canvases,” adds Mr Egessa.

Then on Friday April 8, 2016 from 3.00 PM to 4.30 PM, we’ll invite each of the startup teams to pitch. This forum will guide in deciding the future of each startup. Among the options is admission into AfTIA the Accelerator to receive more support for growth.”
